Ripping out the Kitchen

There was a smell. You know that smell. Some combination of moldy cat piss mouse turds. Ain't nobody got time for that! So, River and I ripped the linoleum floor up and supporting board to find damaged maple. That helped.

As we inspected piece by piece, we rejected piece by piece. From wiring to plumbing to cabinets to the maple floors.

We got it down the the original pine floor. We pulled all the base boards off and trim. We're planning on drywalling the entire kitchen, leaving the ceiling for now (not original).

After it's clean and ready, we'll design and build a new kitchen.

Ok, not really. This house was built around 1880. You can see it on State Rd below.

So, this home has a nice badge on the front, Fenton Home Tour 1984. I think it was a real nice home in 1984 and then it was sold and nothing has been done to it since. Until now. Welcome, follow me on the journey of making this neglected gem once again polished.
